ORAFOL Breaks Ground on new Production Facility
ORAFOL Group has commenced construction on Hall 14, a new production facility at its Oranienburg headquarters in Brandenburg, marking the next phase of a €235 million investment programme the company has committed to through 2030.
The groundbreaking took place on 2 June 2026 in the presence of Brandenburg Minister-President Dr. Dietmar Woidke and Martina Klement, the state’s Minister for Economic Affairs, Energy, Climate Protection, and European Affairs a sign of the political significance attached to the project in a region where ORAFOL is one of the largest industrial employers.
The new facility will cover approximately 4,835 m² of footprint, with a gross floor area of 7,595 m² and a gross volume of around 60,300 m³. More than 2,400 m² of that space is designated for production. Construction will make use of approximately 600 precast reinforced concrete elements.
Hall 14 sits within ORAFOL’s broader “Roadmap 2030 – Shaping the Future” programme, under which the group is directing capital toward expanding production capacity, developing new manufacturing technologies, and growing its international footprint.
Dr. Holger Loclair, Chairman and CEO of ORAFOL Group, connected the new build to the company’s history at the site: “In 1995, we laid the first cornerstone here, back then under the motto: ‘A dream comes true.’ Today we can say: this dream continues. ORAFOL never waited for so-called thriving landscapes to emerge. We began building them ourselves step by step and hall by hall.”
Since 1995, the headquarters in Oranienburg has been expanded almost without interruption. There alone, ORAFOL has invested more than 800 million euros over the past three decades. Worldwide, investments now total over 1.2 billion euros. What began as a small business has grown into an international group of companies with 19 subsidiaries and 33 locations worldwide today.
Minister-President Dr. Dietmar Woidke emphasized: “The groundbreaking ceremony for Hall 14 marks another important milestone in forward-looking and sustainable growth. ORAFOL’s planned investments of €235 million by 2030 represent a strong commitment to its headquarters in Oranienburg and to the state of Brandenburg. For 35 years, this traditional family-owned company has stood for genuine world-class innovation. Every day, the ORAFOL team demonstrates how highly automated manufacturing can successfully operate at the cutting edge of technology. As one of the region’s most important employers, ORAFOL also assumes outstanding social responsibility within our community. I would like to thank ORAFOL for its strong confidence in our location and wish the company continued success, innovative spirit, and prosperity in the years ahead.”
