swissQprint continued growth a Pozitive sign locally

New America HQ_edit

Pictured here, swissQprint’s newly completed 24,780 ft² facility in West Dundee Illinois, situated within driving distance of Chicago O’Hare International Airport, complete with showroom, an expanded warehouse and a dedicated 2,153-ft² technical centre for machine servicing, refurbishment of pre-owned systems and hands-on technical support activities.

Announced on a day when the whole of Switzerland is likely to be celebrating its country’s first ever berth in a World Cup Football Quarter Final, news that swissQprint has officially opened new North American headquarters in Illinois can only be positive for customers of Positive Sign & Graphics Supplies, exclusive distributors locally of swissQprint products. The investment comes just over a decade after swissQprint first established a US subsidiary company in late 2015, ‘to intensify its activities in the American market’.

Erik Norman, President of swissQprint America, says: “This facility allows us to elevate customer support to a new level and creates the foundation for our next stage of growth in North America. Whether it’s reliable access to consumables and spare parts, more hands-on training opportunities or closer technical collaboration, customers will directly benefit from the investments we’ve made here.”

Closer to home, Norman’s words resonate strongly with Pozitive Sign & Graphics Supplies’ Managing Director, Phil Trumble, who confirms: “We’ve invested strongly in the swissQprint brand and their products have revolutionised flatbed printing, so our strong relationship with the Swiss-based company continues to be a win-win for us and our customers.”

“Last year saw the launch of swissQpint’s Generation 5 models, which are 23% faster than their predecessors and come with 10 freely configurable colour channels. Whether it’s the Nyala 5, with roll-to-roll and dual roll options, which now comes fully loaded with CMYK, light cyan, light magenta, white, varnish, and two Neon colours or the Generation 5 Impala or Kudu, printers can get top speeds of 341 sqm/h off these machines, while still maintaining consistently high quality, with a resolution of 1350 dpi.”

The Gen5 swissQprint flatbeds were based on a completely reworked machine concept, with electronics and software included and a strong focus on the customary Swiss precision, with linear motors that help to make printing performance not only more precise still, but faster too.

At an official opening of the new purpose-built American facility, swissQprint also showcased its primary technology collaborations – with  Caldera, OneVision, and Color Logic – presenting live demonstrations focused on workflow efficiency, automation and production optimisation, and giving those gathered some first-hand insights into integrated workflows spanning file preparation through final output.
