Highlights of the stand include: Sign and Display The EFI Pro30h hybrid flatbed / roll-fed LED printer is on display, with Paul Whitehead Business Unit Manager – Sign & Display confirming four orders are already taken for the large format printer. “This machine can print to a diverse array of substrates, both rigid and flexible, using environmentally-friendly LED imaging technology to produce superior image quality, helping businesses extend their capabilities into the sign and display space, with a versatile, productive machine at an attractive price point," said Whitehead. The printer has applications from day/night backlit graphics, to interior decoration and through to retail and outdoor signage, as well as wall coverings and window graphics. Showcasing the versatility of this printer in the Sign & Display showcase area, visitors will see acrylic table tops, branded for use by the Little Bang Brewery, with Whitehead confirming the printer has a variety of additional applications in splash-back printing onto UV Acrylic. xRServices Virtual Reality support Visitors to the stand can also see HP xRServices in action – the new remote support service offering from HP. Visitors can watch a demonstration or try out the HoloLens Mixed Reality headset. Mixed Reality is the combination of real world and virtual display objects that can interact. Impressively the service solution allows remote engineers to see the environment in real time, and talk th headset wearer through the steps necessary to solve the problem at hand. The service is not limited to HP machines, and clients can use the headset and solution to access support remotely for any printer on their factory floor. Support engineers can also “drop in” videos and files that display in the headset lens – giving real time support. Applications extend into a library of training videos that are also available. Clients who subscribe to the service will purchase a HoloLens virtual reality headset and integrated Microsoft Teams platform license for remote engineer support in real time. 3D Printing The 3D printing showcase is in partnership with Evok3D, showcasing the 3DGence Industry 420, a 3D extrusion printer. “3D printing is now a Manufacturing Technology, no longer relegated to only prototyping” says Joe Carmody , Managing Director of Evok3D, highlighting both the steering wheel and noting that several parts are 3D manufactured on demand in racing cars, and the drone on display which had been repaired with a replacement part manufactured in a 3D printer. Closing the loop The Currie Group theme for PacPrint is “Close the Loop”, self evident in the collaboration with the Little Bang Brewery, but also in the impressive sustainability showcase. “Sustainability is here to stay, it’s no longer a trend, or a fad,” says Mark Daws, Director Labels and Packaging, Currie Group. Daws notes that thus far Currie Group has diverted 79 tonnes from landfill through their ink canister returns/recycling program. Canisters are converted into many other products, including being used in bitumen.
