NUtec launches Ruby UV-curable ink range optimised for LED

The new Ruby range launches with premium quality, fast curing roll-to-roll UV inks designed for a wide range of flexible applications including self-adhesive media.  The inks perform well in a demanding, high speed printing environment with enhanced scuff and chemical resistance.

Ruby's superior colour gamut delivers bright, vivid images with good gloss levels. The UV-curable inks are free from N-vinyl caprolactam (NVC), feature improved stretchability, produce low odour, and comply to the latest regulatory standards.

“There are many advantages to choosing UV LED over conventional curing which include, among others, wider substrate choices as UV LED offers a cooler cure, lower energy consumption and reduced heat output. In addition, the LED lamps are maintenance free and feature a long service life,’ says Paul Geldenhuys, Nutec’s Technical & Operations Director.

“As this technology evolves and matures, ink manufacturers Like NUtec will continue to adapt to meet new demands and to support more applications utilizing UV LED systems and ink,” he adds.
