Fujifilm and Konica Minolta progress in establishing joint-venture
FUJIFILM Business Innovation and Konica Minolta have signed an agreement to establish a joint venture to procure raw materials and parts. This follows a feasibility study that was announced and began in April 2024, focusing on strategic collaboration in the multifunction printer, office printer, and production printer segments.
The new joint venture will be located in Shin-Yokohama, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, with an expected establishment date of September 30, 2024. The venture will have a capital of 50 million yen and will be led by Masaharu Furukawa, Corporate Vice President and Director at FUJIFILM Business Innovation Corp.
The joint venture will employ 223 people, including 162 from FUJIFILM Business Innovation and 56 from Konica Minolta. The shareholding ratio will be 75% FUJIFILM Business Innovation and 25% Konica Minolta. The new company will focus on developing procurement strategies, negotiating with suppliers, managing procurement, and ensuring compliance with quality, cost, delivery, and environmental standards.
