A peel-and-stick film solution from Melbourne-based creative design studio Grafico – that The Block viewers have repeatedly seen transform clear glass into a fluted/reeded look popularised in high-end architecture and interiors – is now going to be available through Bunnings stores nationwide in a new take-home tube format.

Available for a limited time only, timed to align with the product’s feature role in the latest series of The Block – this time in Mt Eliza – Grafico Founder and CEO, Damian Corney and his team, have had to pull out all the stops to get the product packaged and ready in time for this huge national opportunity.

Corney says: “The timeline came together fast. After pitching the take-home tube concept to Bunnings earlier this year, in the end we had weeks, not months to design new retail packaging, finalise production and get stock into stores in time for this September deadline, which was aligned with the film’s continued feature role throughout The Block 2026.”

Previously, Grafico has sold the film by the metre to a loyal following online, as its’ popularity has gone viral across social media as a cult favourite of take-home DIYers who follow The Block. This Bunnings launch marks the first time the product will be available nationally, in a ready-to-go, DIY-friendly tube format on shelves across Bunnings, perfectly packaged for those last minute weekend DIY projects.

The product and packaging design itself was completed in Grafico’s Melbourne studio, but to meet the hugely accelerated Bunnings distribution timelines – a process that would normally take 3 months crammed into as many weeks! – Corney himself flew to the company’s subsidiary film manufacturing factory in Guangzhou, China, to oversee the operation and drive the logistics.

Also having to navigate a terrible typhoon season in China, Corney adds: “I was on a plane to our factory within weeks of getting the green light, because there wasn’t another way to hit September. But after working on The Block for 12 years, we have learnt to thrive on these sorts of tight, demanding deadlines and this was obviously not an opportunity to be missed.”

The take-home, fluted-glass film will be available in Grafico’s signature clear colour – with the potential for other colours to follow – packaged in tubes containing metre-length rolls in a set size of 1.2 x 2.2m piece, ready-to-install format designed for DIY application. Grafico currently offers a smoked and tea/amber colour on their website too.

Corney, clutching a set of freshly minted awards from September’s biennial ASGA Gala Awards dinner, notes: “The product dimensions allow customers to complete popular projects such as covering a full glass door or even a shower screen. You can also join the sheets of film to cover larger windows if required.”

“Remember, this is a limited drop and sure to sell out fast, so we urge all DIYers to check out stocks at your local Bunnings store via bunnings.com today.”
