Roland DG launches new, higher performing DTF ink

TY-300i

Roland DG, a leading provider of digital printing solutions, has launched a new ink for use with its TY-300i Direct-To-Film (DTF) printer. The company claims that S-PG3, the new DTF ink, will help apparel decoration businesses improve jetting stability and colour consistency to deliver improved cost efficiency, production outcomes and print performance.

Ryugo Nimura, Executive Officer, Global Sales and Marketing Division, at Roland DG, says: “As the DTF market continues to evolve, print businesses need solutions that help them stay competitive without sacrificing quality. The combination of the TY-300i and our new S-PG3 ink delivers exactly that. Customers can achieve lower running costs, exceptional colour performance and stable, continuous production from a single integrated solution. It enables businesses to produce more, produce better and improve profitability at the same time.”

As DTF continues to become the preferred production method for custom apparel, sportswear and workwear, print businesses face increasing pressure to maximise output while controlling operational costs. The TY-300i and S-PG3 combination has been engineered to address these challenges by combining reliable production performance with a lower total cost of ownership.

The new S-PG3 ink features enhanced ink flow characteristics and improved jetting stability, helping minimise nozzle misfiring and dropouts during long production runs. Its improved formulation also enables more uniform ink coverage across the film surface, resulting in stronger colour consistency and vibrant print output from the first transfer to the last. Equipped with dual print heads and an integrated heater, the TY-300i delivers production speeds of up to 10.9m²/h, enabling apparel businesses to scale production while maintaining consistent quality. Under typical operating conditions of eight hours per day, twenty days per month and a transfer size of 300mm x 300mm, the TY-300i can produce approximately 3,300 T-shirts per month.

S-PG3 has been developed to maximise the TY-300i’s colour capabilities through highly precise ink dot control technology, enabling a wide colour gamut and striking colour reproduction across apparel, teamwear and promotional applications. The combination of S-PG3 ink and the TY-300i also delivers exceptional wash durability, helping businesses produce garments that continue to look vibrant and professional throughout their lifecycle.

The solution also integrates with leading finishing devices, including Graphtec and Summa cutting systems, helping businesses build efficient, high-volume production workflows.
