Mimaki unveils raft of new printers in time for The Print Show in UK
With an official Australian launch of the products imminent, Mimaki Europe has unveiled three new UV flatbed printers with updated automation and productivity capabilities and equipped with next generation RasterLink workflow and RIP software, released in time for The Print Show (29 Sept to 1 Oct, Birmingham NEC, UK).
Building on the JFX200 Series, the JFX220-2515 (pictured) is said to offer high image quality and productivity with improved automation to help users decrease their downtime. Arjen Evertse, Director of Sales at Mimaki Europe, says: “Both the large-format JFX220-2515 and new small format UJF200 Series – the UJF200-3042 and UJF200-6042 – have been developed to simplify everyday production and reduce manual intervention. RasterLink8 further streamlines and automates these workflows. By combining this high productivity with greater application flexibility, these new systems can help print businesses protect margins and pursue sustainable growth.”
Features such as the new Anchor Technology are said to significantly reduce preparation time by applying a vacuum only where the media is placed, eliminating masking and manual vacuum adjustments, while automatic locating pins enable fast and accurate media positioning.
A new four-head configuration enables dual CMYK printing, delivering print speeds of up to 42sqm/hr.
The JFX220-2515 offers an expanded printable area of 2.5×1.5m, which is suitable for large-scale applications like retail signage and, as standard, can print on media up to 101.6mm thick. Further increasing its capabilities is the addition of fluorescent EFS-150 inks. Meanwhile, the machine’s LD4 mode allows for printing up to 20mm away from the printhead, and the 2.5D Texture Maker enables embossing and braille printing.
Meanwhile, the new UJF200 Series, which includes the UJF200-3042 and UJF200-6042, features highly precise printheads that are said to faithfully reproduce fine text, detailed graphics and smooth gradients, while support for fluorescent inks expands opportunities across bespoke promotional products, product decoration and other industrial applications.
The UJF200 Series supports direct printing onto objects up to 250mm high and weighing up to 20kg, enabling it to print on items such as carry-on bags and PC cases.
Also new from the Japanese manufacturer is the TxF330-800, a direct-to-film (DTF) system that offers automated maintenance and a 16-cartridge ink system with expanded white ink capacity. New Sky Blue and Pale Pink inks expand the printer’s colour gamut, delivering richer colours, smoother gradients and more accurate reproduction of both cool and warm tones according to the manufacturer.
