Published on: Wednesday, February 24, 2021 Cactus installs third Acuity Ultra and becomes Fujifilm beta site Cactus Imaging has installed its third Fujifilm Acuity Ultra five-metre wide roll to roll printer and is now operating as a beta site to work with and evaluate the machine's upgraded software. Cactus General Manager Nigel Spicer said that, because of increased print volumes and the necessity for high quality print, it was necessary for the business to increase its print and finishing capacity. “We have also installed the latest high speed Fotoba trimming machine (the second one for Cactus) which allows us to finish the extra volumes in a timely manner. Cactus has invested heavily on automation in the finishing area over the last few years which has enabled us to meet increasingly quick deadlines,” he said. “The significant benefit to Cactus, oOh!media and other clients is the ability to have a quality product produced at high speed that will complement digital campaigns. Digital is such a great alternative for marketers, so we are making sure we complement other forms of advertising sin order to stay relevant.” The new addition, which was installed on 15 Feb, offers enhanced software features and delivers the same print quality and speed as the other two Acuity Ultra printers previously installed at Cactus. The printer's 3.5 picolitre drop size industrial printheads and specially developed UV inks ensure consistent high-quality print, while its massive format size, two or three up multi-roll potential, and ability to print on a broad range of materials gives users the ability to profitably create exhibition graphics, POS displays, high-value graphic art, backlit displays, outdoor displays, outdoor signage and more.
