NSW Vaccination deadline extended for authorised workers from areas of concern

Consultation with relevant parties has seen the vaccination deadline shifted to 19 September by the NSW government. This will allow industry, authorised workers from affected local government areas to continue to work outside of the local government area they live in. This is provided they have booked their vaccination by today, Wednesday 8 September 2021.

Authorised workers must have received at least one dose of the vaccine by the end of Sunday 19 September to continue working outside of the local government area they live in from 20 September 2021. This applies to care workers 16 years and over, and those who work in early education and care facilities. If an authorised worker is under 16, they are exempt.

It is important to note that if an authorised worker does not have a medical reason not to be vaccinated and are not vaccinated, they will not be permitted to work outside of the local government area where they live.

These workers get priority when booking their vaccination.

Priority bookings:

• Authorised workers who live in LGAs of concern
• Anyone aged 16-39 who live in LGAs of concern
• Childcare, disability, and food workers who live or work in LGAs of concern

The local government areas are Bayside, Blacktown, Burwood, Campbelltown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland, Fairfield, Georges River, Liverpool, Parramatta, Strathfield and the following suburbs of Penrith: Caddens, Claremont Meadows, Colyton, Erskine Park, Kemps Creek, Kingswood, Mount Vernon, North St Marys, Orchard Hills, Oxley Park, St Clair and St Marys.
