The event formed part of the Epson By Appointment showcase, marking Epson’s addition to the Currie Group portfolio and expanding the company’s reach into the signage and display market. On show were the Epson SureColor S9160 and Epson SureColor S7160 printers, with the latter making its first public appearance in Victoria. The two new eco-solvent engines feature high-gamut colour reproduction, precision printing, and cost-efficient performance, suited to a wide range of signage and vehicle graphics applications. Paul Whitehead, Currie Group’s Business Unite Manager – Sign & Display, said the partnership with Epson opens new opportunities for customers and for Currie Group’s solutions offering. “Epson’s signage range complements our existing portfolios, letting us serve clients at different price points and technology levels while delivering the same strong service support Currie Group is known for.” Whitehead also noted Epson’s broader portfolio, including dye-sublimation, direct-to-fabric, direct-to-garment, and flatbed solutions, which include tools for colour management and creative production. Partners from Finlease and ORAFOL are supporting the Epson By Appointment event with flexible finance packages and a range of printable media, from reflective traffic materials to wrap films. The relaxed networking setting, accompanied by drinks and canapĂ©s, facilitated discussions on emerging opportunities in soft signage, textiles, and custom merchandise. The two-day showcase is supported by Zeff Lowe, Epson Business Development Manager and Warren Davey, Epson Pre-sales Engineer, alongside Currie Group’s new account manager, Jordan Brewer. “It’s been great to see fresh faces and new conversations around diversification,” Whitehead added. “Epson helps us reach both new and existing customers looking to expand their capabilities in signage, display, or garment printing.” One more day of the Epson By Appointment showcase remains open, Friday 24 October, offering visitors the chance to attend personalised demonstrations. Whitehead noted that opportunities to see the printers in action are available at the centre at any time, inviting clients and the industry at large to arrange a visit to view the printers.
