Thursday, October 30, 2025 Australian 2025 Industry Metrics Survey Now Open The Visual Media Association (VMA) has launched its 2025 Annual Industry Metrics Survey, supported by Ricoh Australia, and is inviting all businesses across print, signage, and visual media to participate. The survey is open to both VMA members and non-members. “This is not just a survey, it’s a voice from industry that is fact-based and united,” said Kellie Northwood, Chief Executive Officer, Visual Media Association. “When we walk into Canberra and across State Government departments, data drives influence. The more participation we have, the more robust our voice becomes to shape legislation that affects every part of our industry.” With significant government legislation and regulatory reviews underway across skills, sustainability, procurement, and manufacturing, the association says that industry metrics have never been more critical. The data gathered will directly support the association's lobbying initiatives and provide the metrics needed to advocate for stronger local manufacturing policies. The 2025 survey captures essential data across: salary benchmarks and employment demographics; skills and training levels and shortages; sustainability certifications and operational practices; and customer sector breakdowns and business confidence indicators The national association says its 2025 survey results will provide insights for businesses and policymakers and should take no more than 30 minutes to complete. “Our industry is one of Australia’s largest manufacturing employers, contributing nearly $15 billion annually and supporting thousands of regional and metropolitan jobs. However, to maintain that voice in policy and procurement conversations, we need verified data,” Northwood continued.“Whether you’re a VMA member or not, your input strengthens the future of Australian print and packaging while also assisting your businesses in benchmarking their position across the industry,” she added. “Ricoh is proud to back the 2025 Industry Metrics Survey,” said Mark Moro, National Manager, Ricoh Graphic Communications Sales, Ricoh Australia. “Data is power; it enables businesses to make informed decisions, adapt to market challenges, and plan confidently for the future. We encourage everyone to participate and help strengthen this essential benchmarking initiative.” Results from the 2025 survey will be shared in a virtual briefing in December, followed by in-person Industry Leader Lunches held in Ricoh showrooms across Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, and Brisbane early in 2026. A comprehensive member report and public summary report will be released following the briefings. “Now is the time to act. Government is listening, and the more voices we bring, the louder our industry is heard. Take 30 minutes, complete the survey, and help us build the evidence base that keeps Australian print, packaging and visual media strong,” Northwood concluded.
