Published on: Wednesday, December 7, 2022 ASGA hosts Inaugural SA Lawn Bowls Networking Event ASGA hosted its inaugural South Australia Lawn Bowls networking evening at the Adelaide Bowling Club on the 1 December. The event coincided with day one of the Adelaide 500, held within walking distance of the bowling venue. Organisers said that the loud supercar engines, which punctuated the day’s events, only added to the festive atmosphere. With many first-time bowlers attending the evening, no scoring or trophies were awarded. The event was treated as a practice run, with organisers saying the 2023 event will crown a winning team. ASGA President Mick Harrold said that the event's turnout was pleasing. Harrold addressed the group at the end of the evening, highlighting the importance of the sign industry, saying, “We’re innovative, and we’re a big industry. We are bigger than we think we are,” continuing, “Employees generally don’t choose signage as a career but many that end up here stay in the industry because they love it. It’s a great industry to be involved in, and we should be proud to be a part of it and promote it more. We should tell other people that we’re proud of what we do.” ASGA thanks ORAFOL Australia for their support of the event. ASGA is set to host more events in 2023 and says full details will be released in the New Year.
