Published on: Tuesday, May 12, 2020 City of Paris and JCDecaux to deploy 2000 hand sanitiser dispensers to bus shelters and automatic public toilets To help ensure the safety of the public when the lockdown is lifted, the City of Paris and JCDecaux are deploying free hand sanitiser dispensers in public areas. From the beginning of this week and as part of a gradual roll-out, almost 2000 street furniture items will be equipped with hand sanitiser dispensers: 1500 bus shelters (or three out of four) and all 435 automatic public toilets. These dispensers will have a capacity of 5 litres and allow for 3300 applications. Installed on JCDecaux street furniture across the city, these dispensers will enable almost 6.5 million hand-sanitising applications every week, thereby contributing to the safety of both Parisians and visitors as they move around the city every day. The dispensers will be refilled and disinfected regularly by a dedicated JCDecaux team. Thanks to Paris City’s investment and the responsiveness of its teams, JCDecaux worked with agility and speed to develop a practical solution for equipping street furniture with hand sanitiser dispensers in order to serve and benefit the general public. “I would like to thank the City of Paris for choosing JCDecaux to implement this ambitious project for the community. This new service that we are providing was set up in record time, just one month after receiving the request from the City of Paris. Many other cities in France and around the world have expressed interest in this initiative. Given the current health crisis, our teams have responded quickly by adapting and expanding the services provided by JCDecaux street furniture in order to meet public needs,” said Jean-Charles Decaux, Co-Chief Executive Officer of JCDecaux. Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris, said: “The City of Paris is pleased with the partnership formed with JCDecaux. This innovative solution will help us to enforce barrier gestures and to provide better health protection for Parisians as they go about their daily lives. To complement this solution, we are already providing hand sanitiser dispensers in our municipal facilities.” Previous Article Durst wide format and textile digital print solutions resume full production Next Article OOH survey shows behaviour changes will remain even as Australians look forward to getting back to work Print Rate this article: No rating
