The release introduces new features that enhance print quality and user experience. Caldera DTF is fully native and optimised for macOS. The company says it is compatible with macOS Ventura (13), Sonoma (14), and Sequoia (15), and is designed specifically for Apple Silicon hardware. Among the new features of Caldera Direct-to-Film V1.2.2 is the ability to configure ICC profile generation. This enhancement allows users to fine-tune colour profiles, ensuring precise colour reproduction and consistency across various media types. Additionally, the updated version introduces a varnish pretreatment coat of ink, providing an extra layer of protection and enhancing the accuracy of prints on diverse fabrics. This feature streamlines the processing of complex designs, reducing wait times and improving user experience. The software also includes a ‘Copies’ field in module panels, simplifying the duplication of designs. The software introduces image overlap functionality in the studio environment. This feature allows users to optimise media usage by efficiently arranging images, particularly in transparent areas. This feature reduces waste and material costs, creating a more sustainable printing process. Caldera Direct-to-Film has direct access to the Caldera Helpdesk from within the interface. This integration enables users to resolve issues swiftly and maintain uninterrupted production through prompt assistance and support from Caldera. The new version also includes support for additional DTF printers, including the Mimaki TxF150 and TxF300, the M&R Quatro 68, and the RS Transfer Pro.
