Grafico and 4D Doors bring Aboriginal Art to The Block’s Final Reveal

In one of the most creative twists of The Block 2025 season, Melbourne design studio Grafico collaborated with 4D Doors and Daylesford-based Aboriginal art collective Dumawul to produce a creative roller door wrap that blended art, storytelling and innovation.

The project began when 4D Doors approached Grafico to create something different for the show’s final reveal. Working with Dumawul, Grafico’s team reproduced original Aboriginal artwork supplied by one of the collective’s artists. The design was printed on a Canon Colorado using Arlon Easy Apply High-Tac vinyl with a matching matte laminate, then expertly wrapped onto the large garage door panels at Grafico’s North Melbourne facility.

To keep the final reveal under wraps, Grafico devised a ruse. Before installation, the team created a second removable wrap featuring oversized portraits of contestants Britt and Taz, disguising the actual Aboriginal artwork underneath. Installed on-site by 4D Doors before the Sunday reveal, the ‘fake’ wrap sparked amusement and confusion among contestants and producers alike.

A few days later, Damian Corney, Founder and Creative Director of Grafico, returned to Daylesford with the 4D Doors and Dumawul teams for the official “unwrapping.” Cameras captured the moment as the contestants and the audience saw the authentic artwork unveiled for the first time.

“This was such a fun and creative bespoke project. We love pushing the envelope, and this collaboration shows off our team’s creativity and technical skill,” said Corney. He added that the project was particularly rewarding for its cultural dimension, “We were proud to feature original Aboriginal artwork in this medium. Working with Dumawul has been incredibly meaningful, and we’ve since expanded the partnership to create a full collection of Aboriginal art wallpapers available for homes and commercial spaces.”

The roller door reveal was the final installation of The Block’s 2025 season, in what Corney describes as a “bold and meaningful finale blending Australian art, high-end printing, and smart creative execution.”
