Australians awarded bronze and silver at FESPA 2019

The winners of this year’s FESPA Awards was announced last week, with Australian entrants Cactus Imaging and Seen Technology scooping bronze and silver, respectively.

Cactus Imaging’s Amex Building Wrap (at Sydney Airport car park) won the bronze award in the poster category. Known to be Australia’s largest building wrap at 101m x 21m, it was printed in five metre widths on the Fujifilm Uvistar Pro 8 and welded together to make three 34m wide pieces.

Seen Technology won two silver awards for:

  • Fletcher Jones Plus 8 Sign Restoration, in the category non-printed signage.  Originally installed in the 1940's at the Fletcher Jones clothing business in Victoria, the F J Plus 8 man was scanned from the last remaining moulds and then replicated using the Massivit 1800 3D printer. The 2.5 metre tool by 1080 mm wide was then coated in polyurethane epoxy and sprayed to match the original. The finished sign was mounted  to a steel fabricated frame and installed with lighting powered by solar energy.
  • Australia Post 3D Printed Limited Edition Stamps, in the category direct printing on 3D products.
