Summa introduces new textile laser cutting solution

Summa has released the new L1810 Gen 2.6 laser cutter, an advanced textile cutting solution. Designed for high-volume, high-precision applications, the L1810 Gen 2.6 is packed with innovative features; it is aimed at sportswear, dye-sublimated garments, and other textile applications.

“At Summa, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of cutting-edge technology. The L1810 Gen 2.6 is not just an upgrade; it’s a testament to our dedication to precision, quality, and reliability. We believe this innovation will set a new industry standard, empowering our clients to achieve unparalleled levels of productivity and efficiency,” says Stijn Henderickx, CEO of Summa. Stijn is confident that the L1810 Gen 2.6 laser cutter will redefine productivity in the textile cutting industry. The L1810 Gen 2.6 laser cutter has brushless motors, offering increased durability and a longer lifespan. The new motors ensure consistent, reliable performance.

Summa’s new motion control system is at the heart of the Gen 2.6 upgrade. It improves cutting precision and efficiency while increasing operational uptime. The enhanced electronics allow for quicker start-up times and smoother operations. A standout feature of the new laser cutter is its ability to connect with external devices like the Caron feeder, with Summa saying this makes it easier to automate workflow for 24/7 production. Removing the touch panel control on the unit further streamlines operation. All functionalities are managed through the laser software, allowing for smoother operation and a more efficient workspace.

Enhanced Cutting Software: GoProduce, GoCare, & GoData
·       With the GoProduce Laser Edition software, controlling the L1810 Gen 2.6 is easy. The system’s user-friendly interface integrates all the cutting parameters and operational settings into one seamless platform.
·        In addition, the GoCare software has been improved to offer better performance monitoring and maintenance management. This means more uptime and more productive hours.
·        The new laser cutter now includes access to Summa’s advanced data-monitoring software, GoData, enabling real-time tracking of key performance metrics. Gaining valuable insights that enhance operational efficiency.

The L1810 Gen 2.6 introduces several enhancements:
·       Upgraded motors for increased durability, reducing the need for frequent maintenance even with 24/7 use.
·       A newly designed Y arm for smoother operation that lowers maintenance needs.
·       Updated electronics for faster start-up times and improved connectivity with external devices.
·       The new integrated software-based control panel works through GoProduce Laser Edition and increases user-friendliness and ergonomics
·       Enhanced motion control for more precise cutting and future compatibility with vector and raster engraving.

With a new 1820 x 920 mm working area, the laser cutter is optimised for large and intricate textile jobs. The sealed edges of each cut ensure the pieces are ready for the next production phase, with no need for additional post-processing. Summa’s laser sales representative, Theo van Bruggen, highlights the machine's specific advantages for textile producers, saying, "With the L1810 Gen 2.6, we’ve gone beyond simple upgrades to create a solution that meets the unique demands of textile production. This model combines enhanced precision, advanced automation, and robust durability to keep production running seamlessly. It’s designed to give our clients a competitive edge, ensuring reliable, top-tier performance day after day.”
